    Hi,
I am a web designer just getting my head around building modx sites.
I have a few up and running, and will be only using modx for all my client sites in the future.

I am looking for someone to work with me on an integrated ecommerce solution.
    I currently use treasurechest, but just need to tweak it a bit to add some extra functionality... such as;

    1. I have a product. Its comes in S,M and L. Each size modifies the price, but is exactly the same product. Just need a drop down menu
that has the options and changes the total price. See an example of what i mean here... http://www.bushessentials.com/index.php?id=48 (currently hooked up to foxycart, but it cant do this second thing...and dont like the monthly fee.. would rather a one off payment)

    2. Some way of handling domestic and international shipping rates. I think the shipping should be calculated on the total cart cost, just like paypal does it.
Im happy to use the paypal shipping override, but it currently doesnt let me set an international rate.
To work around this previously, I just have 2 separate paypal accounts. one to handle domestic orders, and one for international orders.
It would be great to have a radio button or drop down where the user just selects Domestic or International, which sets the paypal email address the order to be sent to.

I am open to all suggestions on how to get this done. If anyone is interested in this job, and any other further modx work in the future, send me a message....

    Regards,
    Justin

This can be pulled off in Foxy Cart (I was just about to build a tutorial on this), but it requires you use a little JS. I’m assuming that you mean when someone chooses a different option from the drop down menu, that the price that shows next to the product will update accordingly, correct? About the monthly fee, you can’t beat the security and updates for such a low price. They handle all the security updates for you which will save your clients tons of money plus reduce their liability.

Some way of handling domestic and international shipping rates. I think the shipping should be calculated on the total cart cost, just like paypal does it.

In Foxy Cart, you can set up shipping options for international orders in the admin area. It will do real time update on checkout for this...shouldn’t be a problem.

While I’m not an employee of Foxy Cart, I personally am a strong evangelist for their company as I’ve done easily 20+ Foxy Cart/MODx installs over the last several years...just haven’t found any ecommerce platform quite as easy to integrate and set up with MODx. Working on one tonight as I’m typing this smiley

        Hi Flinx,
Yes, the first thing i made note of was easily done in foxy cart...
Its the international shipping i couldnt get working to my needs...
It has ups, fedex etc and all that, but my client doesnt use these at all (here in australia) so they are of no use.
I also need the option of calculating postage rates on the total of the cart, not just per item.

        for example....
        1 small product is $10.00.
1 Express Post bag costs 8.00
I can fit up to 10 small products in the one bag.
So any purchases up to $100 only incur and $8 shipping fee.
If the total of the items is over $100 they need the next size up post pack, which is $14.00. Does this make sense?

If ou think this can be done in foxycart, I will have a look into it again....
I could talk my client into the monthly fee, just give them the security speil... that will scare them!

        Thanks again...

Fwiw, that shipping you’re describing isn’t built into FoxyCart’s functionality as of v060, but it’s pretty easy to tackle with a little js. Some examples here (and you can ask for help there if you need it), and more examples linked to here.
