maxi-gallery guru wanted for small job - the calls / snippets etc needed to make it easy for my clients to create and maintain photo galleries

    Hello,

I have decided it’s time to hope on board the Maxi gallery (or similar) train for photo galleries.

Prior to Xmas I hurt my back (related to sitting down too long at the computer trying to work out things that I really have no idea about) and have decided that for me 2010 onwards is the time to call in the experts – even if it is for small jobs like this.

I have used the minified slimbox (mootools originally and now the jquery version) many times manually and would like to use that “automatically” for the galleries.

There are 2 instances in which I would like to use it:
1: individual galleries on their own page
2: different gallery groups on the one page (eg with rel="lightbox[01]" for 1st group, rel="lightbox[02]" for 2nd group etc)

I guess what I am after are the 2 different style MaxiGallery calls with any relevant snippets etc that enable a client to easily maintain galleries themselves – I have found with my clients (99.9% who don’t know any html etc), adding rel=”...”, is not so easy for them – hence why I would like to use Maxi Gallery to automate the process a bit.

    Of interest is:
+ Is it possible to add images automatically from a specified folder (particularly for the one gallery per page scenario but for both would be great)
+ Automatic thumbnail creation at a specified size (I saw something in the forums about creating square thumbnails at a specified size automatically from the full size image – I would like square thumbs that are made from say the centre portion of the image rather than skewed)
+ The ability for me to change the text colours and arrow / close / loading images etc with css as is the case when using slimbox manually.

    Please presume:
+ jQuery is already included in the head for other actions – like so:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js"></script>

I guess the option of adding title info to an image would be nice as an option for a client if its nice and easy without having to add the rel=”...” tag.

I presume for someone who is experienced with Maxi Gallery this is a small job as they have probably done it all before.

I would love to have it resolved by the end of the week if possible.

Rather than giving cms / server access – I would prefer to receive the Maxi gallery calls and any relevant files / instructions and I will plug them in and test on my server... If that is not possible, I can setup a test server to provide access but it will take a few days.

    Anyone interested?

Please advise if any further questions and pm with quote (and in which currency - I am in Australia).

    Thanks in advance.

    Nick

While I must confess to never having actually used MaxiGallery I am obviously going to recommend AutoGallery instead...

      Have a look at http://www.zombietuesday.com/autogallery and http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,39083.0.html

I think it already does most of the stuff you want. If you want it by the end of the week and have a budget I would be glad to set it up for you, including any custom mods you need - or to talk you through all the details if you prefer to work that way.

Ramsay was right - Auto gallery is awesome!

Any library - Auto thumbs - multiple versions per page.

          Hi,

phpThumb works very well with modx.
Just place a phx code to your chunk/template.
