    Hello-

I am new to the modx CMS and I am looking to talk to someone who is very familiar with modx functionality and capability. I imagine modx can handle what I am looking to do and I am very interested in contracting a few small projects immediately and i would love to develop a long term relationship for future work. here are a few basic features I am looking for.....I would love to talk to anybody who is interested in educating me a little bit to see if modx is the right solution and also take on a project.

1- Ability to easily replicate sites
2- Use of data base driven Dynamic variables and Content
3- Roles and permissions- Ability to set up various roles and permission to allow multilple users to log in and add/edit content

      Hi,

Happy new year to you! This kind of MODx development is what I specialise in, and a service I provide to over half a dozen companies. I’ve sent you an email with more details of my resume.

      To address your questions:
1- Ability to easily replicate sites
That’s very easy to do - copy the database, copy the files and set up another virtualhost. Log into the manager, correct the file paths in "Tools -> Configuration" and change the site name.

2- Use of data base driven Dynamic variables and Content
Again straightforward, but needs custom snippets to be written for non-MODx database tables.

3- Roles and permissions- Ability to set up various roles and permission to allow multilple users to log in and add/edit content
Built-into MODx but the documentation isn’t great for this, and it works in the reverse of the way you’d expect! I’ve got a site set up with a dozen content editors with access to different parts of the website.

      Kind regards,
      Peter

        Hello,

Welcome to MODx, I would be delighted to help.

Your proposed work and support requirements sound just like the type of work I enjoy.

        Additional to Peter’s earlier comments,

1- Ability to easily replicate sites
Whether you wish to convert existing HTML or PSD visuals to MODx building MODx CMS websites can be very productive. I work with many clients with established older sites who wish to convert existing designs to MODx, and I always find client feedback positive. The MODx admin is very easy to use and MODx can be flexible to replicate most website structures.

2- Use of data base driven Dynamic variables and Content
MODx is again very flexible and can incorporate external data through through @file TVs.

3- Roles and permissions- Ability to set up various roles and permission to allow multilple users to log in and add/edit content
MODx offers one of the better user admin systems seen within any CMS framework. I have several client sites with sub sections edited by teams of content providers. One such client uses MODx to support their distance learning programme. Additional combining user access and membership groups with Snippets such as PHx we can create different views for select content templates. Enabling us to display the same content page/resource in different ways depending on access level.

I hope the above comments help. I will PM you my details so should you wish to discuss specific projects or MODx feature in further detail please pop me a reply.

        Kindest regards,

        Martin
