What I need is someone that is a developer/designer, but that is also knowledgable enough to offer consulting. I currently do not have any business partner involved in this project (nor am I looking for one), but I would like guidence and advice for better decision making throughout the development of this project (hope that makes sense). Projected Starting Date
I would like to start this project sometime this month (August) depending on terms of aggrement between myself and the chosen developer.
Projected Job Duration
I’m not familiar with development timeframes, but I would like the project to be about 2 months.
Budget Constraints
I have no idea what this will cost.. which is why I’m trying to get quotes. This is not a sponsored project so it is all out of pocket for me. I have a decent amount of cash to start with though the projected quote for the project would determine how the remaining balance would be handled.
Payment Terms
Paypal or an Escrow service is what I would like to use. As I said before, I have a nice amount of cash to start the project off with... the remaining amount would hopefully be paid in 1 or 2 additional installments (depending on the final amount and our agreement).
Scope of Work
This is a website build from the ground up. After searching I haven’t really seen any modules like I would need... though I also may not be knowledgbale enough to realize how they could be implimented to work like I need. Whether or not it would be a custom site or a template is to be determined.
One of the key functions I need is a thorough voting system. This would be more than just your average poll. It needs to be very flexible to integrate into several outputs throughout other areas of the website. It will have a forums section that I believe would entwine with the voting system implemented. The site will be very community driven... with no intentions of being a social networking site (though if select aspects of a social networking site prove to be efficient for the overall purpose, they are welcome). Will also need use of blogs among other site functions. There will be 3 or 4 different "parent sections" (so to speak) of the site which all operate the same, but have different root categories that feed them (similar to a site that has language buttons but more inclined for parent categories that all use the same functionallies throughtout the site.
IP Rights
Any modules created uniquely to serve the functions of my website would be free to give back to the community or for the dev to use as they see fit. (The only thing I’m trying to protect is my concept/idea for the website as a whole... it’s purpose and function)
I realize this doesn’t give a full scope of what all is involved, however, I hope it’s enough to incline your interest. I’m not familiar with all the proper terminology so I hope my explinations are not confusing. Once you receive my outline of the site and how it will operate, I believe everything will be clear to you as to what is required and it will provide the necessary information allowing for any follow-up questions you may have.
