    Hello,

    I have created two groups:

    • users
    • modsgroup

then created a document with several sub-documents. I would like the Users group to be able to post images with a title and description and select which gallery (the subpages) for this to be posted in.

Before the image goes live onto the page it needs to be moderated by a member of the modsgroup, sending the mods an email advising theres a new image uploaded. I don’t mind taking a workaround for the moderation, but keep in mind it isn’t going to be web savvy users using this. Once moderated it can then be resized to 500x500 and displayed in the relevant document including the:

    • image
    • username
    • Title
    • Description

I’m offering $80 as payment (Paypal) and requesting this job to be completed by Monday 8th June - The 9th at very latest.

Please PM if your interested and I will give you the link to the site, thanks.

66 views and no interest so far? What is the issue here, is it the price offered or are any of the features putting people off?

I read through a tutorial of how to do something similar to this, I got through some of it and then couldn’t figure out the rest so surely someone more familiar with ModX could implement this at ease?

I believe the emailing part may be the feature thats putting people off - if so, I will still like someone to get this gallery feature completed and I can worry about the emailing system myself later.

In my case it’s the price - it’s not a realistic amount to interest a commercial developer in adding the moderation feature you’re requesting.

Thanks for your response, the moderation feature doesn’t have to be glamorous or specifically be a whole new section - if it was possible to just have a place with some unpublished documents that simply have to be changed to published for the photos to be ’validated’ that would also be perfectly acceptable.

Not a project I could handle myself, but for those I’ve spoken with, it’s the price as well. Most PHP aquantiances of mine charge that much per hour.

I think your price might be reasonable to implement an existing MODx capability.

Since MODx has no existing moderation system, however, you’re asking for custom code that will take a non-trivial amount of time to develop, test, and intstall at your site.

make me your PHP acquaintance, pretty please...with a keg of beer on top? grin

seriously though, I’m sorry to go off topic, $80/hr is what some people charge?

I think the simplest solution is to have the new docs created as unpublished and notification email sent to a moderator or moderators.

There is still custom code required to create the email notifier.

BTW you can use PHPThumb to resize the images on the fly you don’t need a human to do that at all.

And your price might be too low. I don’t know of to many developers who would consider this for $80. Most PHP devs are charging $60-$150/hour; most around $100/hour. The fact of the matter is that it may only take a dev an hour but for one hour’s work it may not be worth their time.

                  Cheers,

                  Jay

Thanks for your responses guys. Someone has PM’d and offered to help me out for $100.

But as to charging $100/hr I think I’m gonna have to start learning to code better..

Keep in mind that freelancers usually get paid more than full time coders because they have to spend part of their time finding and managing clients/contracts. But go for learning more code/MODx. smiley
