I’d gladly pay/contribute for a white labeled version of MODx. basically something that on the surface allows me to replace my company/brand name everywhere MODx would be. Not talking about changing the source code comments or statements. Just saying everything on the front/backend would be branded.
I’d pay for that.

It’s fairly quite easy depending on the level of branding you need I personally favour adding a company logo to the login screen but leaving in the MODx copyright text which I believe needs to stay in:
"© 2005-2008 by the MODx CMF Team. MODx™ is licensed under the GPL. "
I’ve recently gone a step further and added a logo to the top right of the MODx manager, along with customising the manager home page Site Name - Designed by Business Name.
We will also be adding an extra tab soon Business News which will pull in an RSS Feed.
Branding is good for you and your clients but GPL / Copyright notices should always stay the MODx team have done a great job in making a great CMS.

Cool,
I’ll have to try that

I forgot to mention manager\media\style\ThemeName is the place to add your branding.
login.html and also welcome.html
My favourite at the moment is the MODxCarbon theme.
