Hi Everyone (and anyone), i need some help finishing off a feature on an extranet im making for a client.
there is a requirement to show a list of contacts, with various options for each contact (edit, delete, download vcard). this is handled using newslister and newseditor snippets.
new pages are added using a newspublisher snippet form on the right.
this was all going well, although now the client would like the ability to add new contacts purely by uploading a vcard exported from his machine. this would require somehow parsing a vcards information, then building this placeholder information into a newspublisher form chunk to then add to the list i guess. or there could be a much better way, which is hopefully where you can come in.
i really need to get an idea of how long you reckon this would take to do. certainly i’ve spent about 2 days trying so far, but im no programmer really.
im looking to get this resolved as quickly as possible, and the site is viewable on a live server, so can be looked at immediately.
please get in touch if you think you can help me, or require more information, or think you know of a better way to do it. i’d imagine the problem will become more clear once someone has viewed the page in question.
