Hello, I am in need of an experienced ModX’er to complete a site for a church. I have set up the site basics already, but I just don’t have time to learn ModX and get this done in a reasonable amount of time. The client will need to be able to enter several types of data, including Service Dates & Speaker Names, Events (which will be used in both a list and a calendar), PDF Newsletters, and Photo Galleries. There also needs to be a Members Only section.

    HOSTING
    --------------
Hosting is already setup on a test site, but I won’t posting the URL here as I don’t want there to be any chance of it coming up in search engines for now. Once the site is complete I may also need assistance moving the ModX site to the live domain.

    GRAPHICS/CSS
    ---------------
The design has already been settled on and I am experienced with XHTML/CSS. At this point I am mainly concerned with getting the functionality complete, then I will update the CSS to finalize the look.

    PROJECT DETAILS
    -----------------
    A) Services
There is a page listing upcoming Church Services. The data for this page will include; Date & Time, Service Title, Speaker Name, Description. Order by date, newest first. A subset of this data will go on the site homepage, showing the next 3 upcoming services.
    ---
    B) Announcements
This page will show a list of recent announcements, ordered by date, newest first. The data will include Date, Title, Teaser, Body. The 3 most recent will appear on the homepage.
    ---
    C) News Releases
    Identical to Announcements.
    ---
    D) Newsletter
This page will show a list of PDF Newsletters to download. The data will include File Title (user-friendly), & linked filename.
    ---
    E) Events Calendar
This page should show a grid-based calendar. Ideally with Day/Week/Month views. Items entered can be clicked on for more details. Data will be; Event Title, Date/Time, Description. Homepage will have a list-based mini calendar, showing the next 3 upcoming events.
    ---
    F) Photo Galleries
This page will show a list of photo albums. Each should have a Title, main thumbnail, and description. Clicking the album jumps to a page of all that album’s thumbnails. Clicking a thumb loads larger image. This can use any popular ModX plugin suchas Maxigallery, or lightbox/thickbox/smoothgallery, etc. Client should be able to upload images without worrying about where to store the images, how to resize them, or how to create thumbnails. That should all be automatic.
    ---
    G) Fundraisers
We’ll have a box on the homepage promoting a current fundraiser. The client should be able to enter data into that box.
    ---
    H) Members Only
Users who have logged in will have access to a Membership Directory. I am hoping this can be built easily based on a listing of Web Users. Also they’ll be able to access PDFs of Board Minutes (similar to Newsletters above), and a private calendar which does not appear for the public. Ideally, the calendar should show both private and public events.

The project is ready to start on immediately after I make a selection, and I’m looking at a 2 week completion time (this is flexible if we agree ahead of time). Budget is pretty tight (isn’t it always?) at under $1000. If you have an Elance account I’d prefer to work that way using Escrow, but PayPal will work as well, at 50% down, 50% on completion. We can use my Basecamp account to collaborate if needed. After project is up and running it would be great if you are still available for occasional maintenance.

To summarize, I’m looking to you for functionality, I’ll handle CSS & graphics. I’m looking for someone who can do this without "figuring it out" - I want experience, and good communication. Email me for the site URL and mockups.

    Thank you!

      Hi everyone,
I thought I’d let you know I found someone to tackle my project. It was completed by Brandon Booth and I couldn’t be happier. Brandon was very fair in his pricing, and delivered very quickly. I plan on working with him again as soon.

      Thanks Brandon!
