I was wondering if there was a list around here of web designers "for hire" with MODx experience? Either I’m not searching with the right keywords or this topic hasn’t come up yet in the forums.

As a designer, the reason I chose MODx was because it was a powerful CMS that didn’t require learning any sort of complicated templating system. I am curious as to why you need a specific MODx familiar designer?

Web site’s aren’t really my specialty (rather it’s photo, video and audio). But a friend was wanting a whole new site design for his company and wanted a MODx site because he like the backend. So I wanted to recommend some names.
I guess perhaps he could just hire a site designer to create a slick design and then let the guy figure out MODx. I just figured someone already working with MODx would be better.

I dont do much design myself, but a few designers I have used in the past (and implemented MODx for) are www.godesign.com and www.purefusionmedia.com.

Haha. Yeah, seriously small world. We work with PFM all the time now. David’s a great guy and they do great design. We do design in house as well, if you’re compiling a list. www.themancan.com
I think a designer that’s familiar with MODx would help, since designing for a CMS (CMF) has different design considerations. We work with a few other design firms that make amazing comps, but don’t consider basic things that are fundamental to dealing with dynamic content. My 2 cents.
