hi
I am making my first site in modx (revolution)
I was busy making my first snippet and now I accidentally have overwritten my template with a snippet.
And I have pressed save.
Is my template code completely gone?
And how can I prevent this in the future?
my modx manager is still open (I don’t dare to close it now)...
greetings
www.tornooi.net online database for (sport) events in dutch.
To be redesigned, rewritten to modx with multiple languages...
ANY help appreciated, I cannot offer money but I can offer free advertising on the site. just message me.

If you changed the template’s content with something else, save it, yes it’s gone. MODx doesn’t keep backups from itself.
How to prevent? Make sure you check where you’re coding.
I thought so...
my own stupid fault....

It won’t help you now, but you can back up the site before starting any serious work. You can also use the "Duplicate" function in the Manager to create backups of all the important elements and resources.

When I’m developing, I usually try to remember to run the Backup utility (tools -> backup) every day before I quit for the day. I can’t count the number of times it’s saved my bacon when I do something bacon-brained.
I also tend to install the BkupMODx module the first thing after I install MODx somewhere; it quickly and easily backs up the whole site, files, database and all.
