Add Shortcut keys

Everytime I want to save a document I find myself executing the ctrl-s shortcut command to save a snippet or teplate document. Is there anyway of implementing events to recognize shortcut keys?

I believe this has been filed as a feature request on our bugtracker. If not, please do so.
