Installing Revolution on my webhost, my install is hanging on "Database connection and login information" screen at "→ Create or test selection of your database." due to a javascript:void(0); condition, which does not allow the forward button to then appear.

    Please help with workaround.
    Thanks,

If you haven’t already, try creating the Db yourself before running the install.

If that doesn’t work, one or more files may have been corrupted in transit or, if you’re upgrading from a previous version, some files may not have been overwritten by the FTP program so you have a mix of new and old files.

OK, it was a mySQL permissions issue - I have to give myself specific permission. I’m still learning.

Not sure though if the Revo install was into the correct directory.

I have a "public_html" that then has sub directories for the various web sites. So one example is "public_html/joeswebsite.com" which is the directory I threw Revo into and then ran the install. Is this the correct directory? It seems that typing in "joeswebsite.com" into a browser does not lead to the index page, but rather one has to drill down.

So is the correct setup into the "public_html" directory? If so, what if I want to run a number of independent websites? Does Revo handle this in some way? I’d like to keep the databases separate.

Again, pardon the asking of the ’obvious’.

          thanks,

If your domain is joe.com and MODx is in the public_html dir., you can get to the MODx site with http://joe.com.

If you put it in a joe.com subdirectory, you’d need to use http://joe.com/joe.com to get there.

You can use an .htaccess file to rewrite the URLs so joe.com will point to joe.com/joe.com, but it might be easier just to move it, especially if you haven’t successfully run setup yet. Then you could remove the original subdirectory.
