Hi,
what i wish.....
having updated Revo for the fourth time now (i don’t dare to update the Evo’s i have running).
I’m am a bit annoyed with the trouble i get every time i do this with, permissions, ownership of files, clearing a cache overwriting folder that contain some files i need to keep etc.
Is there no way to update Modx from within the manager. (Like Wordpress does).
Package management seems to have capabilities of downloading a vehicle.zip and extracting everything in place. so why not the core itself?
that would be super handy

I know some upgrades and patches are being offered as plugins in Package Management: "Hotfixes & Security Updates"
With MODX being on github it’s now very simple to see and track commits and explore them in

I’ve thought there’s a plan to implement backend/manager-updates WP-like. But I didn’t find the post or bug by now.
It’s on the roadmap, slated for 2.3
