I’ve found myself in the need of a "range" type input value for a few TVs. I’m currently just using text type and inputting something like 3-18. Although, I think a range slider would be better
Example:
If you have a TV id 2 and it’s a text type, you can run this code in a Firebug console to see what I mean. ExtJS already has a range slider that works great.
var tv2slider = new Ext.slider.MultiSlider({
renderTo: 'tv2-caption',
width : 190,
minValue: 1,
maxValue: 18,
values : [1, 18],
plugins : new Ext.slider.Tip()
});
tv2slider.on('change', function(){
document.getElementById('tv2').value = tv2slider.getValues()[0] + '-' + tv2slider.getValues()[1];
});
I think optional textual labels for the numerical ranges would be needed. For example, a range of school grades:
1 => 'Preschool', 2 => 'Kindergarten', 3 => 'Grade 1', 4 => 'Grade 2', // etc.
So that while sliding you see the labels, not the numbers.
Thanks!
