Some ressources need only one article image, some might need twenty of them. Wouldn’t it be nice to just have one little TV for article images, and be able to use several instances of this same TV? Sound better than setting up twenty individual slots: art_img_01, art_img_02, art_img_03 ...
How can we solve this?
Yes it would be very nice, somebody was doing a plugin like this but I think that is not ready yet. I can’t remember the URL now...

There is a version of MODx Evo that has been modified to allow "custom" TVs. One site I’ve been working with has a multiple image upload/management TV built on this, but it’s not free code. Basically the core TV functionality has been hacked to allow custom TVs (located in assets/tvs), and when used it opens a jquery popup window with the custom TV features. It’s all done with jquery AJAX; I’m working on building a free multiple image uploader (not into image management yet!) that uses a resource with a snippet for the AJAX processor. So far I have it displaying all images in a given folder. Still need to add the upload (I’ll use the uploadify jquery/Flash multiple uploader) and store the metadata in the database.

@sottwell: Yea, that sounds interesting, although my suggestion wasn’t only about multiple images but a more generic ability for handling multiple TVs. It’s not necessarily about AJAX or uploading images. You should be able to have multiple text-based TVs, too (without defining a fixed number of TVs)

That’s what this can do. You can have anything you want in that AJAX popup; in fact the default installation has a stub to demo a FAQ list. It’s just the first thing I’ve ever used with it was a multiple image upload TV.
