A alternative could be siFr from
http://wiki.novemberborn.net/sifr3/ which are using a small flash file with the embedded font, and you can style it with CSS.

Interesting, never heard of IE disabling font downloading. They support web fonts from IE5(I think).
Why would they disable them? Just curios. I used FLIR before but not happy.
I have to look into PCDTR. Hopefully they support all the css styles and they br text properly.
Unfortunately I haven’t accomplished my goal so far. If I run the example it works. Integrated in MODx it doesn’t.
First it won’t replace my text. Then if I run the example script first it will. I noticed it then always uses the same text from the example and not the MODx content!
Why? It appears to store text in the $_SESSION for later replacement in the dynamic css. However, when called from MODx, the DTR script fails to set the $_SESSION strings accordingly.
Hope someone can shed some light on how to solve this issue..
@cipa: check the included readme for supported styles. Not everything is possible but its quite flexible. You can even use $letterWrap to have it break the line after a number of chars.
