I’m not sure if this is already in Evo and/or Rev.
I have done this many times. When I’m working on several snippets at once, I accidentally save the code of one snippet in the place of another. Meaning I have code A and save it in snippet B. So then I have to go back to my backup files (good thing I’m paranoid) and find the old code I just overwrote.
So if there is or could be some archive area that saves the old code before saving the new code into the snippet, page, etc. I mean it could even just archive the last 5-10 things that were saved.
If this doesn’t make sense, or there is something that already does this, please ask question/show me.
You may or may not want to use the code I write. It's probably all against the syntax rules of php and MODx.
Carpet Cleaning
It’s not there, but versioning is planned for Revo, which would solve your problem.
Some people put the snippet code in files and "include" them in the snippet. That way the files can be managed with SVN or Git so you can "revert" them.
You might examine your workflow process, though. I don’t think I’ve ever done what you’re describing. If you’re doing a lot of cutting and pasting to use a code editor, Revo now has the CodeMirror plugin and I think there are several ways to get code highlighting in Evo. If you’re working on a localhost install and moving the files to a remote install, check out Provisioner, which always moves them to the correct location.
