Hi,
Since MODx doesn’t have any code editor highlighing I think it would be more convenient if the source code of Elements could be stored in files, not in the database. This way you can edit it via (s)ftp in your favorite editor.
When I’d learned about @ (at) bindings I thought it is the solution: we just create the template but don’t post any code there, just something like "@FILE ./templates/red.tpl". But as it turnes out, this doesn’t work.
I don’t see why wouldn’t we just turn on bindings on Templates/Chunks not just on TVs.
Any opinions/suggestions?
P.S. As a workaround I can create TV with @FILE binding, lock & hide it from users, bind the TV to the template and use [*TV_name*] inside it. But that’s not one beautiful solution I presume.
P.P.S This is about MODx Evolution.
