    Hi,

I’m a big fan of MODx. Due to Ditto and TV’s, a lot of things are already possible. However, I’m still missing a few things.

    • A proper e-commerce addon. One which supports several plugins, including a Dutch one. Think of it like the equivalent of WP’s E-commerce or eShop plugin.
    • A nice booking addon. Suppose you’re running a hotel of some kind: it would be great to let people reserve their rooms online, right? That would be very neat. Or you could use the same addon when you’re running a car rental company ofcourse.

I’m not a programmer and hey, I know my first wish is very complicated. Still: it would be awesome to use just one CMS for all these things. Otherwise I’m still stuck on using MODx AND Magento, you know.

Anyways, these are my two cents.

Do you mean a dutch e-payment system, like iDEAL?

My experience as developer is that there is no funding for such developments.
Behind any e-commerce system are months of development. And behind the scene are also all the security concerns that users do not see. So, if someones spends 6 month developing a cart system, I let you calculate how many plugins must be sold and at which price to make the investment profitable.

If you only mean having an e-commerce in your language, the languages files of TreasureChest or Shopkeeper can easily be translated.

I realise that. I know it takes practically an entire team to come up with a stable e-commerce option. wink

But as I said: it’s just a wish of mine. I know it’s not practical, but still...

What I’d also love to see, is a MODx version of BuddyPress! Again, I know it’s not that easy to develop. It would take a lot of time. Still, an addon like that would be a huge improvement.

          Hi Martijn,

          Not mandatory an entire team.
TreasureChest 1.0 was developped by Scotty and I upgraded it to a 1.2 version.
          It is stable.

It is more basic than other systems, but sometimes, simplicity is an advantage. For instance the fact that the user do not have to fill any form with its adress speeds up the purchase and increase the sales.

TreasureChest can be combined with other MODx components like MaxiGallery and Ditto, as it is based on templates. You can also insert TreasureChest calls inside templates used by other snippets. In fact, this makes it very customizable, at least for the templating. (Did you try the online demo ?)

Except PayPal, which additional payment method(s) and other features would you like to see the most?

Jul, I’d absolutely be dying to see an iDEAL payment method for TreasureChest. Most consumers here in Holland don’t use Paypal, iDEAL is the way to go for those people. I know a lot of other developers are looking for this possibility as well.

the iDEAL payment method is the only one, besides Paypal, I need. smiley

Some months ago, I browse some websites with documentation about iDEAL. Most docs were in Dutch and I also needed some bank account in the Netherlands or in some other UE country, I cannot remember, but this made difficult for me to make development around the iDEAL system.

I’d like to see an authorize.net payments module and a ups shipping module like oscommerce has. I wish someone could make a cart that is easy to design and functions like modx does. That will be the day!

Right now, carts are way too complex even with their so called easy template systems, yeah if the template matches the configuration of the base install of a zen cart or os commerce, then yeah anyone can drag and drop files. Drupal has a nice engine online for converting psd files to drupal templates,,,

                Just my 2 cents.
