    Hello,
It will be great for revo to have an auto-upgrade feature, like wordpress and typolight has. In one click, we could upgrade to the newest version...

It’s definitely been on the roadmap for a while and will make it post 2.0 release.

        Great!

While it arrives, for such users who uses cPANEL & Softaculous ( simmilar to Fantastico ), MODx is incluided in this repository ( I couldnt test it yet ). It allows easy&auto MODx install/upgrade.

This is true for SimpleScripts also. I’ve used it for installs of both Evo and Revo but haven’t done an upgrade through it yet.

For anyone with a slow connection auto-upgrade would be a big improvement. Simply uploading Revolution the first time took several hours; it’s one of the reasons I’m sticking with Evo for now. I’ve just been watching a demo of Contao (TYPOlight) and they have an auto-upgrade for any changed files already.

Yes, I too echo this need. If you want people to upgrade, use, and keep using your product (thereby enhancing the community) you should make this a reality!

Would the Provisioner codebase be a good place to start? Has anyone looked into this?

              Cheers,

There’s a lot that goes into auto-upgrades - simply downloading a zip and extracting doesn’t always work on shared hosting environments, and a myriad of other issues with timeouts and sanity checks have to be addressed. We definitely want to get it in sooner rather than later; hence why it’s on the roadmap for 2.3 or earlier.
