I often find myself opening 2-3 or more Manager tabs in my browser. For example, I often find it useful to work on a chunk/snippet/TV and also a resource that implements that element. Or sometimes I need to reference one snippet in order to work effectively on another.

I realize that this could easily become a UX nightmare if implemented badly. And also that I probably would personally benefit from doing *less* multitasking rather than asking for new and better ways to multitask smiley ...but... I think it might be very useful to have a layer of tabs within Manager that would allow multiple files to be viewed/edited simultaneously.

MODx Revolution has popup windows to edit resources and elements without navigating away from what you’re currently working on. In some ways, it’s better than tabs because you can have more than one window open at a time.

In Evolution, most users do what you do and open multiple tabs in the browser.

I use Revolution; I guess you are talking about the quick-update features. I’m not in the habit of using them, so I hadn’t thought about that as a means of working on multiple things at once. I’ll have to try it.

Still though, the concept of tabs in a UI is to keep things more organized than having multiple windows open and having to find which window to focus on. I still think tabs would be a nice option.
