It’d be REALLY nice if there were several things available in the /manager/includes/config.inc.php file:
1. the base path of your install. When I move sites between hosts, I have to edit the things in the database for the file assets path and the base path.... seems to me that this would be much easier to put in the conig file for a one-stop shop to edit the base of the site. You should also be able to get some mileage out of PHP functions here too, e.g. " dirname(dirname(__FILE__));" or similar. So many things break (e.g. FCKeditor) if this is not configured correctly... you could put in some OS specific code there too to handle IIS’s quirks, e.g.
2. There ought to be a global configuration setting for the base url for easy use with templates. Again, this would ideally live in the config file.

Yeah, just like that. I think that should be built into the core, personally. That’d make it a lot easier to move between servers (e.g. dev --> Prod).
