The duplicate function is very usefull to create a document quicky. But this runs inside a MODx environment.
I think that a copy/paste function of elements between two differents MODx environments will be usefull and will increase our productivity.
I know that copying a document (linked with templates and template variables) is not so simple,as the destination elements (template, template variable) could not exist or should be renumbered differently. But even if the final result is a partial copy, this feature will allow to reuse quickly some preexisting pieces of site.

Essentially, this could be accomplished if you could open up a database handle to the foreign environment, but this requires that you configure MySQL to allow incoming connections from where-ever you’re trying to connect from (i.e. NOT localhost). Other than that, it’s a matter of selecting records from one environment and inserting them on the other. The other thing you could run into quickly is duplicate records.
