Not too sure if this is the best way to do it, but it seems like its been requested numerous times in one way or another.
Imagine a site with 3+ levels and 100+ pages. As it is now, there are two options while using FURLS:
1. You set show friendly alias path to yes and the URL’s reveal all of the site levels (which in a 3+ leveled site gets quite long)
2. You set friendly alias path to no and then none of the level structure is in the URL, leaving you with www.mysite.com/alias
Seems to be quite logical that some of those folders you would want in the URL and some you wouldn’t, but that there isn’t a way to do this (yet) in ModX.
What if there was an option similar to the "show in menu" check box that would show or hide the alias in the URL?
How hard would that be to add in? Is there a way to do this a different way currently? Am I missing the point somewhere? A lot of the forum posts suggest restructuring content to achieve your desired URL structure, but sometimes (especially with LARGE sites or complex navigation) having 100+ pages in a folder isn’t an option.
Anyone else with me here?
