As I recently discovered, with eForm and eForm2db you can make a nice form to have users submit data and then it’s captured in a (mysql) database table.
From a help page (
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/DB_query_and_Placeholders ) I managed to have a page ’get’ the data from the table and display it on a webpage.
I would like a standard ’set’ of database manipulation modules, so that you can easily create pages for displaying&updating database fields. A bit like the pre-made templates that Dreamweaver has.
For example:
- create the DB table through phpmyadmin (directly in modx?)
- fill the table with content from a eform2db-enabled form
- have an admin page that lists each of the DB items in a table (a bit like it’s done in PhpMyadmin)
- webinterface: have ’edit’, ’update’, ’delete’ buttons next to each record
So either some pre-made templates, or some kind of module/chunk/snippet/whatever that makes it easy to modify the items from within a web interface.
