Wrong Menuindex after duplication

Hey Folks,

i’m not getting a new menuindex during duplication of documents, which will cause sorting problems within ditto.

is this known, a bug, or a feature?

I observe the menu index value as being the same on a duplicate document as it’s source. Are you looking for the value to be something different?

I believe 012h is expecting for the duplicated document to have a new menuindex. I am curious as well whether this is a bug or a feature.

On the one hand, a duplicate implies that all properties of the new document are the same as the original, but it’d probably be more useful for it to have a new menuindex.

Do duplicated documents get new aliases?

I would expect it to follow the setting for Menu indexing default in Tools > Configuration > Site (it doesn’t). And duplicates have no alias, regardless of the original’s alias field.

I wouldn’t necessary expect it to follow that setting. That’s for new documents, but I think you could consider duplicating documents different than creating new ones as far as the menuindex goes.

But it seems that i have to write a plugin that will sort the menuindex from all documents within the same subtree. Since i found no other way to solve this problem.
