I know about Inherit Parent Template, but optional (turn on/off in configuration) "Default Template" field is more simple for users... By default "Default Template" = "Template" filed.

    Thanks.

IMHO TV is not good for this, better make field near Template.

I think, that I need modify this files, but not sure...

        manager/actions/mutate_content.dynamic.php
        manager/processors/save_content.processor.php

mutate_content.dynamic.php is where you would add the field to the edit page. But you would need to add a db field as well and to store the info and include it in the query. I am not sure exactly where to do this.

In re-reading the original question I don’t think I understand. You could turn off the plug-in completely in the manager, or you could edit it to ignore certain containers with an if statement.

I have my sites setup so that the user/client does not need to concern themselves with the template selection. I set them automatically with a tweaked version of inherit parent template plugin. I prefer to provide as few options as possible to keep it simple for the user.
