Forum integration

With nearly getting my forum integrated with modx and failing at the very last part I would like to see someway to use SMF userlist as modx usernames and passwords. I installed the smf connecter and it worked all the way till I sign in... it doesn’t recognise the passwords as it’s not connecting to the smf DB or something. I wish someone would create a way to get smf users able to sign in to modx........... my biggest wish!!! Anyone?
