I was playing around with Bamboo Invoice (which by the way is really slick) and was thinking about how integration might work with MODx for the user management end. It occurred to me that an invoicing system in MODx or a shopping cart system that allowed a customer to update their own information would need to have some kind of versioning system to make a backup of changes for reference in special situations. So that if a customer changed or removed contact data for evil intent there would be a record of what the old information was.

An invoicing system or shopping cart should also make it’s own static copy per each order anyway, but a separate backup of the user system could be useful.

Perhaps MODx could make use of a completely separate database for this type of backup data. Since the backup data would rarely get changed or modified it might help keep the primary system smaller and faster. I don’t know how all that works or if it would matter.
