I wish that MODx CMS v. 1.0 would come pre-packaged with richtext editor options, beside the standard TinyMCE. For example, I would love to see WYMeditor get integrated into the next release. Something that is clean, fast loading, and easy-to-use. You know, sort of Google-esque. cool

Actually I was wondering the same thing, could someone point me to an integration guide for how to incorporate 3rd party javascript within modx? Link for the curious http://www.wymeditor.org/en/

WYMeditor is a pretty cool light-weight editor. However, integrating it into the manager is just not in the cards right now. I’d rather wait till we get a full replacement for the file browser before trying to integrate something like this. Now, that being said, WYMeditor would make for a great front-end editor. That’s something that is fairly easy to do. In fact, you can build a plugin that is strictly for front-end use and would allow for assigning it to a richtext TV widget. That would work quite well! smiley

This has been brought up before if you’re interrested in WYM integration :

Personnally, since I have seen a sample of what can be done, and since the 0.9.7 manager is extJS powered I wouldn’t mind an extJS powered editor. Maybe there is one somewhere already, who knows ?
