    Hi,
I have a weird problem when restoring modx site backup from live. The site always point back to the live site.
For example in localhost, I have domain name set for the local site is http://abc/, but when I type this http://abc/ it points to the real live site. If type http://abc/setup or http://abc/manager it is working.

My pc is windows 7, for restore, I am using a UBUNTU virtual machine, running SAMBA damaeon.

Please advice if anyone come across this before.

      Hi,

have you done a search in all the db tables through phpmyadmin, looking for a path you may have forgotten to change ?

maybe you forgot to edit something in apache config or .htaccess file

Try doing an upgrade install on the restored site -- be sure *not* to install the sample site.

          Thanks French Fries,
I tried to search entire DB and found there is a "RedirectHome" in table-"modx_site_snippets" which keep the live site URL. I change it to local URL and it works now.

          Thanks BobRay,
I tried your way before many times, but it doesn’t work as well.

Thank you again, hope this post help others with similar problems smiley
