Hi, you have made really nice cms.

What i want to say is:

it will be very good if document will be as some logic piece (like now, only without introtext etc.) i understand that mostly features like intro text is needed by default - but i think that it must not be necessary.

i think that in cms i can create few type of documents (with some fields like introtext, price etc), then few chunk templates to view them, and then when i create new document i choose what type of document i want to create, and fill needed fields...

so this is my wish, maybee it is not realy needed and good - but i think that this is what cms must give to user

The idea is good and I would enhance it. Why I can’t define in templates which fields I need for myself? And also the sort order of this fields like tv’s. Sometimes I wish to have some tv’s above the content field or have a better/other name of the content field itself. It’s all for my clients working with modx and don’t having skills in CMS/HTML/lean document structures.

An example: my client has a news area and fills documents for news with

      • a teaser text,
      • a supplemental long text,
      • a teaser image.
This time I use the content field for the teaser text (because it’s the first text field), after this I put a tv for the teaser image and last I have a long text field for the additional text.
The better solution would be: a teaser image tv at first, then the renamed content field as teaser text and at last a richtext tv for the long text.

so... in the best way it would by some kind of constructor (like LEGO) for integrators (us, that creates sites on this cms) it will be great if we can construct our documents in that way that we need...

In a way you can already do that with TVs and the HideEditor plugin wink

But back to the matter at hand : you should know that what you’re suggesting and discussing is pretty much on the mind of the team smiley
It’s been discussed several times, only natural if you consider that MODx aims at giving you top flexibility... anyway, alternatives are being looked at and while I am not the best person to talk about the new codebase, my understanding is from 0.9.7 and on, this will become much easier to implement thanks to xPDO.

I’ll let the dev & coding team give you more detail about that though, the new OO codebase is quite a leap tongue
