One major feature I would like to see in the next version of MODx is a tabless manager menu. I kills time having to go tab to tab to get to the screen you want. If all the menu buttons were fixed on the left end and always visible it would be so much easier to get to what you want. Also highlighting both the menu item, and document currently selected would help the user keep in mind what document they were working on. The attached image is a mock-up of how I think it could look.
    Cheers,

The only issue with such a configuration is screen realestate. We used to have one and it can eat it up fast, particularly if you have a non-English language and longer menu titles.

OK I can understand that. How about making it a "slide out" (or flyout) when the mouse approaches the left border. My TopStylePro editor has that feature. Make it an option in preferences.

We’ll have a lot of options once we loose the frames. Right now that’s the biggest stumbling block.
