it would be cool to have AMFPHP inegrated with the modx core so you could use the modx api model in your flash applications.

Amfphp and MODx, that will be great...

Flash, AJAX, and web services access to the MODx API has been of utmost concern to me in the redesign of the MODx core, and you will see a lot of possibilities in this area expand following the 0.9.7 release. I do not think AMFPHP will be the best solution at that point, but equivalent or even better solutions will be more easily attainable with the new object-oriented core; and if I’m wrong about AMFPHP, integrating it will be much more practical at that point.

I’m just familiar with AMFphp, A flash service is a flash service, as long as the two can chat I’ll figure out how to use it... I’m terribly excited about the new core, I can’t wait to learn all about it and really contribute to the project through it...

            cheers guys,

just wanted to ask whether there has been any progress regarding this feature...
seems zendamf is state of the art atm but i’m still using amfphp.
integrating it into an existing evolution installation is a breeze but i don’t get
very far. as soon as my service-class is trying to include modxapi.php every-
thing (regarding the service-classes i connect with from actionscript) is getting
            screwed up.

should i give revolution a try and can you give some advice which method i
should try instead of ’getDocument’ which seems to be deprecated...

            thx in advance!

Are you not using the service class as a MODx snippet? That would be my advice; rather than trying to include a modxapi.php file in external files. It’s just another Web Resource (aka Document) in your MODx site tree that way, and will work fully (unlike the modxapi.php).

For Revo, you can include and instantiate the modX class very easily now in any external PHP file, but that said, I would still recommend turning your service class into a snippet or several, published as MODx Resources.

                hi jason! smiley
                thank you for your feedback.
i guess this won’t solve my problem, because the service classes i mentioned
are necessary to expose the php-functions to actionscript... i’m developing
a flash-frontend that should be able to access methods from the modxapi.

one stepping stone would be to get the array returned by the getDocument-
                method into actionscript.

if i try to export the content of a page as xml (using the getDocument-method)
everything seems to be cool; but using amfphp would be way more elegant
                and flexible-ok?

modx looks excellent as a backend; hope someone has some experience
                regarding this approach.

i will give the revolution asap a try wink but atm i have evolution installed...

                thx in advance!
