    Hi!

Just wanted to wish a little laugh

Firstly, I better newspublisher (DITTO is almost perfect! for getting news) although, a frontend solution for adding news would be great!

second, I would wanna take the QuickEdit a step further, I would wanna have Inline editing right in the page you wanna "quickedit".
(look at http://www.neocms.be/en/demo.html to see what I mean...)
Don’t know if it is hard to do, or if it might be a security risk ?! But it is VERY handy! I am able to see exactly how it is looking in "the real world". Not changed becuase of resoultion and such..

otherwise, MODX RULES!! It is the absolutly best system yet!
i have around 2000 pages on it and it still is fast as a lightning!
    great work!

i agree inline editing would be great for quick edits, but not if it produces the kind of code in your linked example.

That is what News Publisher/News Manager is for. It allows you to add news from a form on a front-end page.

But sadly still lacks good tagging (by using a TV) support, which most ’heavy’ and more preset CMSes often do wink

On the main topic; I do like the looks of that one, but it wouldn’t be easy I guess as MODx has so many options to display content, direct call, chunk, placeholder, template, so editing a lot of stuff directly wouldn’t be able. Inline editing of pages would be nice though, imo, but then I’d rather see an option like vB’s or SMF’s inline post editing instead of ’abusing’ the whole page directly.

            yes
I agree that the code is not perfect, and my example was , just that, an example...However, I do agree that SMFs inline editing is a better way. My point is that using the quickedit tool doesn’t really give a good "overall image" of what the content look like on the page.

And yes, newspublisher is usably, but me, and my company, has around 2000 pages of news, and while modx certainly handles it ok, it isn’t easy to maintain (the directory tree is VERY long! and publishing news is not so easy either because one must heavely change the code (which I have done) to do what almost any cms/cmf/ems have, A good newssystem. I know that modx isn’t a cms and I don’t want it to be just a cms either, I just want do have some more development on the newsside laugh

You may have a look at Contenido, an open source CMS. It may inspire MODx if "inline editing" is planned.

I would say nice idea, but better fix the quickedit bugs before.
cuz I tried it with IE6 and the quickedit layer looked horrible and some problems in Opera also

Then use Firefox wink But no kidding, you might be right, IE6 has horrible rendering though, but if it’s not working that doesn’t look too neat, I haven’t had trouble with the latest Opera though.
