    MODX: 2 RC2 (Installed on 5/31/2010 at 3:00 AM)
    PHP:5.x?
    MysQl: 5.x?
    Browser: Chrome/FF/IE 8

    The Issue:

This is another instence of the mighty blank page. However, this time it’s not related to MODx install. I assure you, I looked at 4 pages of posts on Blank pages and unless I missed anything, nothing seems to address my problem.

I hope someone can help or at least point me to a resource.

My computer froze and I was forced to reboot. When I reloaded my browser (Chrome) and tried to access the manager to continue the work I was doing. I get a blank page. No logon screen, no anything and the source code is also blank. I deleted the browser’s cache, and tried 3 different browsers (IE 8, FF, Safari) and I’m still getting the same problem.

The site is working just fine and I know that the engine (MODx) is doing its job, but what’s going on?

Is this a MODx cache problem and how do I clear it

    Thanks guys

what operating system do you use? Are you working local or online? Any chance you try another computer to see if you hit the same problem?

        Hi there,

The site is hosted on a remote server. Everything worked just fine until the browser crashed.

Not 100% sure about this but could you have corrupted database issues? Perhaps something was processing when the browser crashed and it’s thrown everything off?

If you’ve tried different browsers and all that, might be worth it to try getting in through cpanel or something and try to repair your db tables?

Just a thought. Not sure at all that this is the problem or solution undecided

            Thanks man,

At this point I don’t even know what’s going on. I’ll have to rerun the install, it sucks, but I at least I have some chances there.

Run it in upgrade mode I guess

It’s going to be hard to debug without more specific information regarding what PHP/MySQL versions you’re on. That said:

                1. Try clearing the core/cache/ directory. Empty it.
                2. If that doesnt work, try truncating (IOW, emptying, removing all the rows, but not the structure) the modx_session table.
                3. Try running setup in upgrade mode.

                  Thanks all for your suggestions.

I had to run an upgrade install to fix the issue. I still don’t know what caused this.

                  Cheers
