The idea is to create automatically a document under a specific id, containing Ditto and NewsPublisher (or a chunk), when a webuser is created (OnWebSaveUser?).

Indeed, I saw this using Drupal. It is in the scope of making MODx a nice CMS for communities.

One more vote for such a thing in modx core ...even if it should not be too difficult to write such a snippet.
It’s not just for social communities sites, for example I am developing a site for a research department, in the ’staff’ section we will have personal pages.
Currently I would have to create this pages one-by-one in the manager, assign them to the right document-group, and finally let all researchers login with the same ID to access the folder of personal pages (letting the possibility to edit someone else page by error or evil), or create one document-group/user permission set for each user (about 80)!
There have been some discussions about this recently. And in all honesty, I think something along these lines may become available in the next month.
I think the best way to achieve a per-user blog will now be with a Jot-based solution, because Jot uses its own db table rather than using documents and therefore can more easily sidestep the user permission issues by just letting users edit their own posts.
BTW found this ’ancient’ thread
http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,1263.0/topicseen.html" which deals with this same issue,
I wonder if Ditto has something similar to the ’&canpost’ NewsListing parameter discussed there...
That topic is about NewsPublisher, not NewsListing.. Ditto (what is the successor of newslisting) is a "output" snippet to query modx documents and pull data out of them for display, it doesn’t do input. Look at
NewsManager what is the successor of NewsPublisher (i think).

This reads like a worthy addition to MODx.
Does anyone news to report on the status of this suggested feature?
*inquiring minds want to know*
Is there any progress on this? It’d exactly what I’m looking for.
We creaded somthing like this
each new register user gets his own hidden page where he/she can alter his/her details.
and register a boat to sell that wil be a new public page while all the detals for the boat page is editable from the hidden (personal) page.
www.esailing.nl , dutch boat selling site controlled by a boat broker I think its called.
It would be a nice feature but there are a lot of nice features, but the core needs to stay lean I think. a plugin could be made to do the thing you want we used custom register snippet and some other snippets to do this.
