I know in the next release there will be a document manager module for altering most of the document settings. But wouldn´t it be good to overwrite the created field while editing every content item? Just an extra field with "override created date" where you can put in another created date via popup calender. The reason is: If you import items of another system (joomla et al) by hand, you have no smooth solution to put in the correct date. And I´m sure a lot of people like to switch to modx, but this is a barrier without entering phpMyAdmin or writing complex import scripts.

Why not edit the existing created-on date?

In phpMyAdmin? Sure. But it would be more comfortable to be able to do this in the page view in the manager.

If I’m not mistaken, the bulk document manager for the next release allows this. smiley

Hi Ryan, as I said (first post)

I´m aware of this brilliant new tool, but it would be also usable to alter the date in the document view while editing (or creating) a document. This would be nice for people who are importing their stuff per hand, so they can put in the correct (past) date without switching to the modules... wink Shouldn´t be that difficult to implement I think.

Now I understand. I don’t see why not, either. smiley Want to file an official feature request for this in the bugtracker?
