    1. The field "description" has disspaeared from the document editor, but is still present in the Database site_content table. Is there now any way to modify it from the CMS.

    2. Something is wrong with the unpublished docs. One some websites they are shown as they were published, on other - a "404" page is shown as it should be. What could possibly be wrong with this and how can I repair it?

      1. Have you been playing with ManagerManager? It will hide fields.

      2. Ditto and Wayfinder will show unpublished docs if you use certain parameters to tell them to do that. Could that be it?

If neither of those applies, it might be a corrupted install -- it happens.

Try removing "Configuration Chunk" value from ManagerManager plugin Configuration page.

Users logged in manager can still view unpublished documents...

Nothing. tried removing only that value and the full string. The previous look of the editor page returns for a glimpse and then it is again "Page title", "Page heading", "search engine description", "alias" etc...

What if you disable ManagerManager plugin altogether? Description field should be there...

If not, I still suspect a corrupted file. The fact that the install went smoothly just means that all the files that were there were installed successfully. If any were missing or corrupted during download, upload, or unzip, you wouldn’t necessarily get an error message. It happens more often than you might think.
