    Hi,
I searched for the forum for a poll module / snippet, I even found one but I require something different than the one which is available out here. I am currently working on a site which displays poll on the left side on the page and the client also need poll archive option.

The site in quesiton is this.

I am looking for a Ajax based poll script with archive option. If AJAX is not possible, then simple one is also ok but it should fit into the design and should have archive option.

I do not mind spending some amount on it if someone is ready to code for me.

    Thanks
    Deep

      Moving to Wishlist.

By AJAX, you mean you want it to save the result without reloading the page?

Who would be adding questions, and who/what would determine when a poll ended and moved to the archive?

What restriction would you want to stop people voting twice?

And finally, when do you need the script by?

      Nice site, by the way.
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

        HI,
Yes, I meant the same i.e. results without refresh...

Basically my idea is to have this poll ported into MODX from Wordpress...

        http://blog.jalenack.com/archives/democracy/

I do not mind donating some amount for the work and making the whole thing available for public so everyone can use it....

Admin should have options to add / edit / del poll, specify date after which it should be moved to archive.

I think all the options are available in democracy plugin, we just need to find a way to port it here. btw It is under GPL so I do not think there should be any issue if we give proper credit to the developer of the poll.

I need this whole thing in 4-5 days max. I have couple of other requirements too, I will let you know by PM as those are custom ones related to the custom script that we are developing.

        Thanks

          Thanks for the PM.

I assume the existing module you’ve looked at is:
          http://modxcms.com/Polls-Module-526.html
which seems to do everything that Democracy does, except it doesn’t have an Ajax voting form. Is that right?

If so, I’d rather see someone work out the Ajax stuff than try and port that plugin. (Especially given that the author of that plugin is rewriting it from scratch).
