It would be nice if, instead of entering content in a textarea, you could set a link to a file on the server where entries could get their content from. I say this most especially for templates, so that you could edit them in and IDE and see instant feedback.
I know that I can place an include statement in a snippet, but just having a link field would be much cleaner.
I also know that similar desires have been expressed. I’m just tossing in my 2 cents as well.

One of the things I’m experimenting with in 1.0 is indeed the ability to indicate if an element stores it’s content in the database or on the filesystem (or a combination, where the latest version of an element’s content might be stored as a physical file). This would also open the door for protocol access to the content elements via FTP, WebDAV, or other approaches, and eventually, auto-versioning when saving changes to a file on the filesystem via the protocol interface.
Wonderful. I’m sure you’ll achieve useable results, and I’m looking forward to checking them out.
