    Hi,

I just want to know if someone is working on an IPB Module like the SMF Module huh
I know that it’s difficult to make a module for a product which not free but I think a lot of people want this module and can switch on ModX... and Invision is creating IP Dynamic... >:(

    TD

    Sorry for my english... undecided

      Nothing seen or read.

I know IPB has a new system happening, Converge . Still, part of this system is already in place and can be used. It needs a bit of php code to accomplish the hookin. Possible we can drop this kind of request @ IPB Beyond or Invisionize.

I am a admin of several IPB installs. still haven’t felt the need to run a tightly intergrated CMS with a board. But heck, who am I. laugh

Well, IBP is not free and $69.95/year is rather expensive for a forum unless someone wants to donate! (hint, hint)

Maybe if MODx had a IPB forum running on the server we could work on integrating the two....

We had an early version of an IPB plugin a year ago actually.

TylerD, you are not alone. I too would love to see a module that connects MODx and IPB. But itsn’t it a bit hard because the member structure in the two seems to be very different at first glance?

I’d like to see one of these too!

And only the new versions are paid. You can still get free 1.3 boards, and for example, I have a prerelease 2.0 board that has no limitations.

But don’t most people run the latest release? (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)

It depends. People with money generally run the newest version, but there are several large communities still around the 1.3 version. For example, invisionfree, forumer, and a couple other sites all revolve around 1.3.

And since I have a free-to-distribute, unlimited trial version of 2.0.0, I use that with any clients that need a forum. Theres so many good mods for 2.0 that some people don’t switch simply because the mods have not yet been updated.

Edit: So I just looked it up and the unlimited trial is not free to distribute...but since I downloaded from IPS I can use it as many times as I want. Doesnt affect me, but if anyone asks I can’t legally send it to them.

I am a customer of Invision, and dished up the $70 bucks. To run a 1.3 version is fairly irrisponsible and has certain known flaws that can comprimise your security. Same thing for the 2.X and lower 2.1.X (below 2.1.4)

I PM-ed mark and told him I am willing to donate server space and a copy of my IPBs to get a plugin devolped. Since I can’t affort plain cash atm, this is the only way I can donate to a project like this.
