Would you mind to elaborate on this, it doesn’t quite make sense as it is huh
MODx is a CMS (even a framework/CMF actually).

If I guess correctly the underlying question you’re asking is : How do I set up a portal with MODx ?

Well, if you’re looking on a pre-packaged portal system with one-click install, MODx might not be for you... You sure can set up a portal with MODx (entirely customized to your needs), by installing Modules such as Forum, Polls, a Gallery, a Calendar, File Downloads and Uploads, a FAQ , a News section, a Blog or a syndication page or any other features that are currently in MODx Modules, Plugins and Snippet repository.

The whole idea of MODx is having a light, extensible and flexible core application which you can tailor to fit your needs through installing Modules, Plugins and Snippets. But you won’t have a "all-in-one" and "one-click-install" application there (such as Joomla, e107, phpNuke and the likes...)... Power has its price wink

Heh i said that name because of the plugin that exists in e107 and it’s called cms plugin lol
Let me see if i can explain ( i’m usually bad at this)
Well you make category x and subcategory y and z.. and you post the article in the z subcategory.. so fac modx has only 1 level of categoryes right ? I mean from what i sow it’s the directory > page...

You can have as many levels in the document tree as you like. It may take some creative use of snippets to display them as you wish, but it’s certainly possible.

Yeah well don’t believe anything you read wink Lots of things dubbed "content management" which are not...

Joke aside, I don’t know this e107 plugin very well but if I remember correctly it’s only kind of a "news plugin" ?

No MODx has no limits whatsoever as far as "categories" are concerned. In fact, MODx doesn’t really handle content though categories per say. We are talking web document here, and if you have spent some time with MODx you are familiar with the "document tree". A folder could stand for a category, subfolder for subcategories, this to the nth level...

Give a try to the NewsListing snippet, and read the tutorial I pointed you toward on the other discussion.

Thanks for all your replays. Sorry for my stupid questions. Modx is getting into the best cms ever tongue.
Maybe it should be more idiot proof aka user friendly.
