I think the forum Repository area is starting to get big and long. It seems like if you are out of touch for 10 days or so it’s to easy to miss a new project or a final releas of a project or whatever. Do you guys think it might be time to have an area on the main site ouside of the forums that is dedicated to module, snippet, and theme managment?

I was thinking it would be cool to have a submission area where a new project could be submitted. Subject for approval by the head people of course. But then which gets an area with automatic features like...

    • Progression Label - Categories ... Planning, Development, Beta, Stable, etc.
    • Download area
    • Version History
    • Project Forum - A small forum area dedicated just to this project and accessible from the Projects main page. With automaticly generated categores like Support, Feature Suggestion ,Bug Reports

The main Repository entrance would need a way to search and view all the modules, snippets, and themes.

    • List Entire Repository (default view)
    • List all Modules
    • List All Snippets
    • List all Themes

    You get the picture.

Perhaps a view most recently updated snippets (based on version history updates maybe), an option for most recent forum postings, a view of modules marked as Final Release status, beta status, etc. I’m sure there are dozens of things I’m not thinking of yet.

    What do you think?
