It would be very useful if DropMenu snippet had one configurable option more: showOnlyActiveMenuTree or something like that... wink

What I mean is an option to build menus that shows only the topmenu level and active submenu tree.

    Example:

While the menu builds now like this:
    - Menuitem 1
    - Menuitem 1.1 (YOU ARE HERE)
    - Menuitem 1.1.1
    - Menuitem 2
    - Menuitem 2.1
    - Menuitem 2.1.1

It would be most times better like this:
    - Menuitem 1
    - Menuitem 1.1 (YOU ARE HERE)
    - Menuitem 1.1.1
    - Menuitem 2

Yes I know you can do the same trick with CSS but this new option would have two great advantages:
    1. It would greatly reduce database requests in large multilevel menustructures
    2. It would make MODx and CSS newbies life a lot easier. No more CSS hassle with basic menu building, just one configuration option.

Yes, some time ago I’ve developed menu with exactly this output, but it’s really lousy lousy code, so I don’t want to publish it. It may be also much easier to add a feature to the menu we have.

This suggested output is imho MUCH better, I’ve used it many times.

I agree this would be an excellent menu option. Also useful if you want to channel page rank in to your main pages rather than spread it around every page on the site. Please can we have this? smiley

Quick but perhaps not very elegant solution: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,3996.0.html

What I’d like to see in an integration of every useful DropMenu mod integrated into one single snippet... Like for instance the MindSpill version which has some amazing changes too (Modified for weblinks and regexp on keywords/TV.) ...
