It would be very nice if the current folder could be included in the dropmenu snippet (&folder=1 or something> This would be the folder you have spacified as the &startID=`15`
This would allow the user to specify if the folder for a section (i.e company section, id=15)should be included making it very easy to have a section home page that visitors could navigate back to when using the dropmenu snippet as a sub-menu to list only the files within a section.

Hi edge, very good suggestion. Could you track it as a Feature Request in the bugtracker, please? (Starting to collect quite a few requests for the next rev of it... maybe we can talk Jared the menu master into jumping on the bandwagon!)?
