One thing I think would help market modx would be the availability of some "powered by modx" logos for people to place on their sites if they so choose.

I’m due to launch my personal website in the next couple of months, and I have the perfect place that I’d like to put a "powered by modx" logo with a link back to modxcms.com. Unfortunately this area on my site has a dark (almost black) background, and the only powered by logo I have found is the "runs with modx" one on the modxcms.com site which is a JPEG with a white background.

I think a selection of logos (with white, transparent, dark backgrounds) in a couple of different sizes and formats would be really beneficial to allow the modx evangelists (like myself) to market modx in a subtle way.

As an example of what I’m thinking - see what the PHP project provides.

Would this be possible with modx? cool

Yeah, I’d seen those. One is the "runs with modx" logo which is on a JPEG with a white background. The other two don’t feature the modx box logo, and none feature the logo in full colour in all its glory (I LOVE the box logo!)

I’m thinking more choice such as PNG and GIF formats, with transparent backgrounds, maybe in different layouts - such as a horizontal (like the "runs with modx" logo) or vertical (box on top with the "powered by modx" text on 2 lines underneath.)

Anything that makes it easier for developers to promote modx - I could be wrong, but I’d imagine more people will be willing to download and place a ready-made logo on their site (5 minutes work) rather than have to download and play around with an EPS file to construct one themselves (anything up to an hour, if you have Illustrator.)
