I am upgrading modx-1.0.2 to the beta version 2.0.0 on an ubuntu machine called su-webstage-01. I unzipped the files and put them in my web-root, /usr/local/website/access/modx-1.0.2. I saved the config.inc.php file and copied it into the new manager directory. After doing all this, I tried to login to the install site at http://su-webstage-01/install/index.php but I get "Oops! This link appears to be broken". I can’t seem to get to the install site. Can anyone help me please?

There is no direct upgrade path from 1.x to 2.x so if you’ve copied on top of the existing site, it won’t work.

If you’ve created a fresh install of 2.0, the install directory is now called setup, so it’s yoursite.com/setup

There’s some information on moving to 2.x here: http://bobsguides.com/migrating-revolution.html

Thank you. I’ll give it a try. In the upgrade instructions it said "Simply overwrite all the old files". These are upgrade instructions, supposedly indicating that there is a direct path to migrating. Oh well! It also mentions the install directory.

Now when I try to connect to the install site I get:
FATAL ERROR: MODx Setup cannot continue.

          * MODx requires the pdo_mysql driver when native PDO is being used and it does not appear to be loaded.

Can someone please tell me how I install pdo_mysql driver. I am running ubuntu on a command line. Thanks for any help you can give me. sad
