I’m relatively new to MODx and have been trying to learn as much as possible while asking a minimum of what I think could be simple questions from the perspective of those more experienced than me. So I really do try to use the search feature of this site as much as possible. Still, I can’t help but to feel that I’m missing answers to questions when I do this. In short, the forum/archive search capability seems to be compromised.
Here’s an example, in short order I am going to post a question asking if anyone has implemented a rich-text editor on the front end or in a form field. If I search for
"implement RTE front end" I will get no results worth pursuing.
Yet user BobRay posted a reply to a message on 8/9/2009 saying that he (presumably) thought that some had figured out how "to implement a RTE on the front end".
If the search engine misses that post, it’s missing other things as well. Dunno who gets the happy task of either looking into this or setting me straight, but I thought I’d bring it up.
Regards,
Matt
Must admit I dont find the search on the forums very useful.
I normally search for something to do with ad-dons though so just use the addon name and then click on the main support thread / category for that addon and manually look through the posts.
Hopefully it will be improved in time and we can all be happy searchers lol
