I got the following error (HTTP 503) trying to browse the MODx site today, and it took me over half an hour to get 1.0.0 downloaded.
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The bwshare module will refuse your requests for the next 13 seconds.
You have made too many requests per second.
Note this error occurred on my second request (to the download page) and it’s the first time I’ve visited the MODx site in about 3 weeks (as I’ve been on holiday.)

Something is up; it’s been doing this for a few hours now. Sometimes it’ll work OK then give me the "time out" treatment. If I go slowly between clicks it seems OK, but if I move too quickly from post to post it complains.

We were trying some traffic shaping tools earlier to mitigate DOS and site-scraping tools. Didn’t work so well obviously and turned them off. Please report any other issues.

I figured as much; and since the usual process is to click rather quickly between posts on a forum, I would imagine that configuring such a beast would be a real headache.
